Tuomas Huikko received the Best Paper Award from Nicholas Chuberre (Thales Alenia Space).
We proudly announce that Magister has won the Best Paper Award in Industrial Relevance at the 12th Advanced Satellite Multimedia Systems Conference and the 18th Signal Processing for Space Communications Workshop!
We’re honored to have received this award, which was granted based on our paper’s outstanding relevance for ongoing and upcoming industrial developments. This highlights the value that simulative comparisons like ours can offer to SatCom companies in the years ahead.
Tuomas Huikko gave a great presentation of our findings in a paper session, receiving positive audience engagement and interest.
The event was an excellent opportunity to connect with other organizations in the satellite communications community. With the need for services like ours continuing to grow, we’re excited about the opportunities we can help SatCom organizations unlock with simulation.
We received the award for the paper “Simulative Comparison of DVB-S2X/RCS2 and 3GPP 5G NR NTN Technologies in a Geostationary Satellite Scenario”.
It was co-authored by many current and former Magisterians: Tuomas Huikko, Verneri Rönty, Erno Seppänen, Sami Rantanen, Frans Laakso, Vesa Hytönen, Lauri Sormunen, Mikko Majamaa and Jani Puttonen.
The paper presents our simulative work in comparing DVB-S2X/RCS2 and NR NTN technologies in a GEO, Ka-band scenario. We were able to establish a fair comparison between these technologies – producing valuable insights for global 3GPP and ETSI standardization efforts.
Through simulations, we have solved many complex challenges in the SatCom industry and beyond.
